We don't have many memories of that Beethoven 1… the wish to work again on it is very strong! While the days in Barcelona were once again a crucial step forward: not a revolution anymore, but an amazing improvement of our awareness and technical skill on period instruments. We performed works by Haydn, Mozart, Rossini and Beethoven in a concert for schools, introduced and led by Lorenzo's engaging speeches!

The need to go on learning from Lorenzo Coppola and the amazing memories of our project in Barcelona in 2008 pushed us to figure out a way to repeat that experience. However, we were a bit shy to dedicate one of the six projects we reserved in 2009 just for our experiments on period instruments. We also decided not to loose the chance to work on a symphony on modern instruments. The choice was Beethoven 1, a beautiful, fresh symphony, very closely related to what we were going to do right after, in Barcelona.
