L. Van Beethoven - Symphony No. 8 in F major Op. 93
2 - 8 February 2009
Dripping with humor, Beethoven's 8th Symphony risks then, more than others, not to be completely understood: the Allegretto Scherzando is a "commedia degli equivoci" (a Comedy of Errors), in the Menuet the trumpets’ entrance is coarsely wrong, everything is deliberately contrary to what it should be. Thanks once again to the illuminating presence of Lorenzo Coppola, we tried to transpose the Symphony onto an ideal stage, discovering the many possibilities to be "actors" in each performance. We would also like to remember the warm hospitality of Sabbioneta and the generous solidarity of the friends from Belforte and their contribution: we can never thank them enough!
