With this project Spira mirabilis goes out into a new dimension, involving an orchestra, a children's choir, and a small theatre company, while keeping its strong identity! The idea of studying Mendelssohn's complete incidental music for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (playing it in the context it was written for, although reducing the text) was in the air since the very first years of Spira; in order to do that we needed director and actors to share our way of thinking and working. We also needed a choir willing to engage in a few months of preparation on both music and acting. Here we are now, all together! We have been doing already some great work and we can't wait to start our intensive final production period, hosted in the beautiful Bassano del Grappa!
